Nas Holds Kelis-Like Wedding Dress On The Cover of ‘Life Is Good’ Album

Nas revealed the cover of his long-awaited tenth studio album, “Life Is Good” (July 17), yesterday (June 4) to mixed reactions.

The picture, which depicts the rapper holding a dress similar to his ex-wife, R&B singer Kelis’, wedding dress on his lap, quickly became a popular topic of discussion among various social media outlets.

While the cover itself sparked its own discussion, the Def Jam-released album trailer is something to talk about as well.

The one-and-half minute clip clears up the use of Kelis’ infamous green dress, ending with a clip from Nas’ episode of VH1’s “Behind the Music” where he reiterates a moment from his public and bitter divorce from her.

“She took her stuff out of the house and left her green wedding dress, and that was all she left,” Nas said on the episode.

Though the trailer in its entirety touches on the other mishaps of Nas’ career, the important tidbit to understand is life is in fact good for the don. In a recent interview with MTV News, the emcee discussed the meaning behind the album.

“It’s been a long time; it’s been years since I released a solo studio album, so this record is everything,” he said. “This is everything that I’ve got to say – I guess you’ve got to live a little and you put that in your music, so it’s coming from my life.”

Interesting!  We are ready to hear this new music like yesterday.  July 17th LIFERS!  WOOT WOOT!
