Phew! Almost as quickly as we learned that our girl Halle Berry had been rushed to the hospital after hitting her head on concrete while shooting The Hive in L.A., we hear from the actress’ rep that she’s OK after all. She’d been rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center via ambulance last night, according to TMZ, but it was apparently just to be safe.
“Halle Berry suffered a minor head injury while shooting a fight sequence on the set of her film, The Hive,” her spokesperson said in a statement to People. “She was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but she checked out healthy and was released. She’ll continue production as planned.”
Dear directors of the world, please do not put Ms. Berry in such dangerous situations. Don’t you know she’s a national treasure? Last year, she broke her foot while shooting Cloud Atlas in Majorca, Spain. OK, it was on her day off, but still, we had to see her hobbling around on crutches for weeks, and it was painful for everyone! She’s also broken her arm, hit her head and injured her eye on the sets of three other movies.
The Hive stars Berry as a 911 operator who tries to save a young girl, played by Abigail Breslin, from a serial killer. By the way, if Little Miss Sunshine gets injured on the set, we’re gonna be really pissed. Just sayin….
