Former Power 106 Radio Personality Big Boy Cleared To Work For Rival Real 92.3

A Los Angeles County superior court denied Emmis Radio a preliminary injunction to prevent Top 40/Rhythmic KPWR morning star Big Boy (real name: Kurt Alexander) from crossing the street to work at iHeartMedia Urban KRRL until completion of trial in the matter. The court lifted a February 10th temporary restraining order.

The ruling stems from a breach of contract suit (EMMIS RADIO, LLC v. KURT ALEXANDER, a/k/a “BIG BOY”) in which Emmis is seeking millions of dollars in damages. In response to the new ruling, Emmis issued the following statement:

“While Emmis is disappointed with the Court’s ruling and will evaluate our legal options, we are pleased with the Court’s indication that damages are an available remedy at trial. Emmis remains resolute in continuing to protect our legal rights and committed to the continued success of POWER 106.”

Word has it that Big’s first show on The Real 92.3 will be March 9th.  Congrats Big!  We can’t wait to hear you back on air!

New Music: Ma$e feat. Eric Bellinger “Nothing”

(via MTV)

It’s been a decade since Ma$e released his last album, Welcome Back, but the Harlem rapper is ready to put an end to that dry spell. His latest project, Now We Even, is expected to drop later this year, fueled by the catchy new single “Nothing”.

The upbeat track features singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger, who crafted Chris Brown’s “Fine China,” and production from Nic Nac– the man behind Breezy’s “Loyal”– so don’t be surprised if this one is an instant hit.

Ma$e has been reppin’ Harlem for his entire career, but he’s bringing some West Coast vibes on this breezy new single, which is dedicated to the ladies. “If you don’t need a n—a for nothing, make some noise.”

Back in December, Ma$e released “Why Can’t We,” and it seems like much more is on the way.
