According to our source, who would like to remain nameless because of his ties with the entertainment industry, Solange Knowles attacked brother-in-law Jay Z because he was being a bit too attentive to designer Rachel Roy at the Met Gala after-party on May 5th.
Our source, who was present at the same event as the Knowles-Carter clan, said that before Solange started going flimode on Jay-Z in the elevator, she reportedly yelled at Roy to keep her distance.
“Jay was talking to Rachel and it looked like they were getting a little too close, so Beyonce approached them and got a little ghetto with them,” the source said. “Not too ghetto, but just enough to let them know that she was there and she wasn’t having that,” he said. “At that time, Jay told Beyonce that she needed to chill out. That’s when Solange hopped in and told Jay and Rachel that they weren’t going to disrespect her sister. Jay told Solange that she needed to calm down and told her that she was out of line for being disrespectful to Rachel. Apparently Solange didn’t like that because that’s when she got real hood on Jay. Jay grabbed both she and Beyonce and proceeded to leave. I thought that was it until the elevator footage hit the internet.”
Apparently, whatever Jay-Z had going on with Rachel Roy triggered Solange’s protective side. When she saw that her sister didn’t like it, she immediately came to her defense. Continue reading

Days after purging all Beyonce photos from her Instagram page (except for one), Solange posted a childhood photo of the two as part of Throwback Thursday.
Beyonce started the Instagram reconciliation trend on Wednesday, when she posted four photos of herself with Solange … three of them caption-free.
The Internet continues to search through social media to find some meaning behind the Jay Z/Solange elevator fight and Beyonce’s non-reaction to the whole thing. Perhaps this means the two are trying to kiss and make up?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few hours, you’re aware that TMZ has obtained footage of what appears to be Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel in New York City.
The alleged altercation went down at a Met Gala after-party last week at the Standard Hotel.
Hours after the alleged altercation, Beyoncé posted a message on Instagram hinting at relationship turmoil in her life.
The post read:
My Prayer to God
Lord, I lift up every one of my relationships to You and ask You to bless them. I pray that each one would be glorifying to You. Help me to choose my friends wisely so I won’t be led astray. Give me discernment and strength to separate myself from anyone who is not a good influence. I release all my relationships to You and pray that Your will be done in each of them.
Beyoncé and Jay Z took in a Brooklyn Nets game Saturday night. Beyoncé posted photos of the two courtside sitting next to actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
A publicist for the Standard Hotel has provided the following statement exclusively to our friends over at TheGrio.com regarding the leaked video footage of Solange attacking Jay Z:
“We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.”

A boxing website has obtained a copy of a letter sent to Floyd Mayweather on July 24, 2012 while he was incarcerated from his business associate Tommy Summers that seems to show that he was trying to convince his friend to join him and 50 Cent in their new The Money Team (TMT) Promotions venture. We’re not sure how this surfaced since in the letter Summers asks Mayweather to tear it up after reading, but in the letter he encourages the boxing champ to split from long-time adviser Al Haymon because he did an underhanded deal, and join the new venture so he can rake in over $100-$200 million a fight.
Pop the hood to read the letter: Continue reading
